Online gaming operator 1xBet has announced that it has entered into a sponsorship deal with Spanish LaLiga football champion FC Barcelona in terms of which the online betting company will become a global partner of the football club.

The five-year deal signed by the parties covers the 2019-20 to 2023-24 seasons with 1xBet working with the club on a vast range of activations that includes gaining access to 1st team players in order to create promotional material and marketing campaigns.

1xBet has offices in Asia, Europe and Latin America and is already the sponsor of Serie A, the top-flight soccer division in Italy as well as English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The gambling firm replaces Betfair in the sponsorship category, with the UK-based betting exchange also deciding against extending its deal with fellow La Liga club Sevilla.

Alex Sommers, a spokesperson for 1xBet, commented that they are certain that 1xBet has something to offer to all FC Barcelona fans and they both expect that the cooperation of two world-class brands will be lucrative for both parties.

Josep Pont, the Head of Commercial for Barcelona, said that they are convinced that this deal with 1xBet will help them to continue to grow both on and off the field.

Pont also said that this deal consolidated their global expansion strategy and they are sure that it will help them to connect with new sports fans all around the world.

The agreement comes after Barcelona’s LaLiga rival Sevilla signed a partnership deal with Marathonbet and Valencia liked up with bwin in recent weeks.
