Bet365, a leading British online betting company, has entered into ten new sponsorship deals with clubs in Spain’s top division.

On Wednesday, 1st August 2018, the company announced ten separate deals and confirmed that it would be sponsoring half of La Liga’s 20 teams: RCD Espanyol of Barcelona, Athletic Club Bilbao, SD Eibar, Seville’s Real Betis, Real Vallodolid, Vallareal, Madrid’s Getafe, Rayo Vallecano, SD Huesca and Celta Vigo.

EPL and La Liga Santander are both regularly considered the best football leagues in the entire world with teams from the league having won six UEFA Champions League titles and six Euro League titles since 2010.

Athletic Bilbao is one of the most prominent of the clubs signing with Bet365 and is one of the most talented sides in the league since its founding in 1898.

According to a prominent Spanish business newspaper el Economista, the move is a “colonization” by Bet 365. The paper’s staff also revealed that the British company is placed, suddenly and hard, in the first position of sports betting companies in the Spanish competition. It went on to say that interestingly, in the Premier League, a prolific ground for these firms, had lost its presence after the decline to Championship of Stoke City, who wore its logo on the front of their shirt.

The squads are signed for two seasons ending in 2020, although some may choose to extend in the future after the initial duration.

The Bet365 logo will not be featured prominently on the front of team’s kits but will appear on the websites, coaches, press conferences, social networks and facilities (including stadiums) of the clubs.
