The Indiana Gaming Commission has released a list of sports which would be available at licensed gambling establishments in the state when sports betting goes live in just over a month and has revealed that the state’s sportsbooks will have a multitude of competitions that they can offer to their customers.

Nineteen different sports, including the Olympics, will be available for sportsbooks. These include football (college and pro), basketball (college and pro), baseball (college and pro), ice hockey (college and pro), Golf, boxing/mixed martial arts, tennis, soccer, bowling, cricket, lacrosse, rugby, softball, sailing and track and field.

Sarah Tait, the Commission’s Executive Director, stated that officials from the IGC looked at what the other US regulated markets offered as the basis for the state’s offerings.

Triple-A baseball is one league that was listed as Indiana is home to the Indianapolis Indians, who play at that level.  The Louisville Bats is another Triple-A team that plays right across the Ohio River in Kentucky.

The Gaming Commission confirmed that sports betting would be available at 10 of the state’s 12 casinos and at 3 off-track betting locations which have been given temporary sports betting licenses for retail betting operations.

Indiana intends launching full-scale sports betting operations prior to the start of the NFL season.  Some state officials and experts, however, doubt that sports betting could be launched within that time.

Bettors in Indiana would be able to place wagers on MLB, NBA, NFL, collegiate sports, soccer, professional golf, boxing, the Summer and Winter Olympics, tennis and UFC, among others.
