DraftKings has entered into a six-year agreement in terms of which it will offer sportsbooks to players in New Hampshire, making it the latest US state to launch sports betting.

Earlier this week, Governor Chris Sununu placed the first legal sports wager in New Hampshire by putting money on the New England Patriots to win the 2020 Super Bowl.

Last year legislation was signed into law, allowing three channels of sports wagering through the New Hampshire Lottery and New England-based DraftKings – the exclusive digital operator for sports betting.

Players over the age of 18 now have the opportunity to place bets via DraftKings’ online and mobile platform or through physical DraftKings sportsbook retail locations throughout the state as well as traditional lottery retailers later this year.

Governor Chris Sununu revealed that sports betting is the right bet for New Hampshire.  He added that they moved fast to get this done by partnering with a world-class company to provide a first-rate customer service experience and the state is poised to dominate the market.  He added that the launch of sports betting will also benefit their education system.

Chris McIntyre, the New Hampshire Lottery Executive, added that this is a significant milestone and an exciting moment in the New Hampshire Lottery’s evolution, as sports betting represents a major addition to their portfolio of products.

The agreement will also include New Hampshire receiving 50% of sports betting revenue, which will support the lottery’s endeavor to drive funds in support of education in the state.
