The Game of Baccarat Rules and Other Information

Baccarat is one of the oldest but most popular games both live and online. This game is purely based on chances, so if you’re feeling lucky, then try playing the game of baccarat.

The Game Play

Baccarat, also known as the “Punto Banco”, usually has 12 to 14 players with 3 casino dealers. The game is usually held in a separate area just within the vicinity of the casino. There are three types of betting in baccarat. You can make your bet for the banco (banker), punto (player) or you can use the “standoff”. In some casinos, the players are asked to deal the cards, while other casinos have a casino dealer to do the job. Online baccarat, on the other hand, has the computer to deal the cards. Every player will get the chance to bet either for punto or banco. If a player doesn’t want to make a bet, he can pass it on to the next player (shoe). If the banco wins, the shoe will still ¸but if the player wins, the shoe will be passed on to the next player.

In playing baccarat, you’ll only need to choose between two options, like flipping a coin. When playing baccarat, you’ll be dealing with two to three set of cards, faced down. The player will then be given the chance to make the largest bet on Punto (player). Then the punto player will look at the dealt cards and pass it on to the dealer. The dealer will then have to reveal the results and announce the winner.

The Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat is usually played on a six-deck or eight-deck table. Face cards and tens have no value, while cards less than 10 are counted by face value and aces are equal to 1. Keep in mind that only single values are credited. For example, you got a double-digit value of 35, only the second digit will be credited. Initially, the players are asked to bet on either Punto or Banco. The dealer will then give two cards to each option - one for the punto and one for the banco. The main objective of baccarat is to wage on the hand that has the highest points.

Player’s hand rules - If the player’s first two cards have the value of 6 or more, then the player doesn’t need to draw another card. On the hand, if the player’s first two cards have the value of 5 or less, then the player will need to draw an additional card.

Banker’s hand rules - If the banker’s first two cards have the value of 7 or more, then the player doesn’t need to draw another card. If the banker’s first two cards have the value or 0 to 1, then he will need to draw another card. However, if the banker has a hand value of 3, 4, 5 or 6, then his decision will solely depend on the move of the punto.
