Online gambling analysts predict that 2018 will be a year of significant growth in mobile gambling numbers. After studying 450 million transactions across 100 online gambling operators, Iovation analysts pointed to the growing trend of gambling via mobile devices, and the fact that the trend will only increase this year.

Barely six years ago, only 6% of online gambling transactions took place with a mobile device, but in 2017, this number jumped to a boggling 62%. The reason for this increase is multi-fold. First of all, more and more people are acquiring smartphones and using them in their day to day lives for all things – from banking to remote gambling entertainment.

Second of all, online gambling operators recognize that players are seeking their entertainment via mobile devices and have thus created entire portfolios of mobile compatible games. Some of Microgaming’s most popular titles are now available as mobile games, and thanks to advanced technology and mobile screen customized features, the player’s gaming experience is second to none. Even the biggest progressive jackpot slot games such as Mega Moolah are available as mobile games.

Iovation pointed out that players are demanding easy access to their gaming platforms, whether desktop or mobile, and even the need to enter a username and password is considered cumbersome today. Instead, players are demanding one-touch betting and will be a challenge for casinos to give players what they want without compromising security standards.
