Leading sports data and Technology Company Genius Sports has entered into a live streaming and data platform partnership with Dutch Basketball League (DBL) in terms of which it will supply the league with its GeniusLive automated streaming and production service. GeniusLive will be presented in all nine DBL venues as from this season.
Genius Sport entered the field of video production recently with the launch of GeniusLive after acquiring streaming and performance analysis company Oppia Performance.
The Dutch Basketball League’s association with GeniusLive will enable it to offer all games live and on-demand on the new website together with combined commentary and graphics.
Live data collection and competition management solutions will also be provided by Genius Sports.
Genius Sports has revealed that, developed alongside the world governing body of basketball since 2004, Fiba Organizer and Fiba LiveStats will enable the Dutch Basketball League to simplify the running of every competition as well as capture live statistics from courtside to power their scoreboards, website, mobile apps and streaming solutions.
Ramses Braakman, Chairman of the Dutch Basketball League, commented that this exclusive and long-term arrangement with Genius Sports is pivotal to them. He added that as an up-and-coming league, they really value their approach, counselling and passion for basketball.
Braakman also said that their cutting-edge, but affordable technology allows the Dutch Basketball League to punch well above its weight given their limited resources.
