Betsson, a Swedish company offering several online gambling products, such as casino, poker, bingo, sports betting and more has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Dostal Alley Casino in terms of which it will launch online sports wagering in the state in an enterprise that will also signify the operator’s access into the US market.

The new 10-year market-access agreement will also see Betsson planning to launch its B2C sports-book in Colorado during the first part of next year, subject to regulatory approval in the state.

According to Betsson, the launch will form part of its ongoing strategy to expand into new and regulated markets that includes establishing a presence in the United States.

Betsson will initially open a small office in Colorado, with the long term goal of moving into other states and also selling its proprietary sports-book to B2B customers.

Pontus Lindwall, the President and Chief Executive Officer at Betsson, commented on the agreement by saying that the whole country has a strong culture of gambling and is now experiencing online penetration at an accelerated pace, where consumers are transitioning from traditional retail outlets to also now betting on their mobile devices.

Lindwall went on to say that they have followed the development in the US closely since the possibility of a repeal of the (Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act) and have carefully considered ways to enter the market.
