DraftKings Inc. is pleased to announce that it has entered into a deal that will see it be Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Chicago Cubs’ official partner.
In terms of the deal, DraftKings is now the exclusive sports betting and daily fantasy partner of the team and is due to open a new retail sportsbook at Wrigley Field.
Matt Kalish, the co-Founder and President of DraftKings North America, commented on the deal by saying that the partnership is an historic moment. He pointed out that the two organizations have a mutual passion for innovation as well as being committed to excellence.
Kalish went on to say that they look forward to working in collaboration with the Cubs, an organization steeped in tradition, and making their presence felt in and around Wrigleyville.
DraftKings has also just launched a new sportsbook in New Hampshire. The DraftKings Sportsbook at Manchester is the second retail location to open in the state and offers bettors a physical spot to place wagers on professional and college sports.
Included in the new multi-year deal between DraftKings and the Cubs is a strategy to develop an incomparable sportsbook at iconic Wrigley Field. Players in the Wrigleyville area will gain online access and be able to place sports bets while in the area outside the stadium.
The sportsbook at Wrigley will offer a complete entertainment experience for guests. Despite the fact that sports betting is legal in the state of Illinois, the City of Chicago must approve DraftKing’s new plan prior to offering services.
