Esports betting operator Esports Entertainment has announced that it has signed a multi-year market access deal with Twin River Worldwide Holdings that will see it enter New Jersey’s sports betting market.

The operator’s aim is to launch a proprietary mobile sports betting product in New Jersey under one of three online sports betting skins that Twin River will gain access to through its acquisition of Bally’s Atlantic City.  When live, the app will give consumers in the state the opportunity to place wagers on a selection of esports events.

Esports betting in New Jersey is currently only permitted by the state’s Division of Gaming Enforcement on a case-by-case.  A Bill filed by Assembly member Ralph Caputo in January attempts to ease these restrictions and allow betting to be offered alongside traditional sports.

Grant Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Esports Entertainment Group, commented that they are excited to partner with Twin River as they bring mobile sports betting to the New Jersey market.

Johnson also said that when they completed their IPO on Nasdaq earlier this year, it was with the intention of expanding their operations in the US and that with this partnership, they are delivering on that goal.

George Papanier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Twin River Worldwide Holdings, commented that Esports Entertainment will be a great addition to their growing partnerships with Sportsbook leaders around the world, as they currently operate sportsbooks in Rhode Island, Delaware, Mississippi and Colorado.

Papanier added that bringing this new, unique offering to the AC market with a prominent gaming partner is one of the many exciting changes they have in store for Atlantic City in the months to come.
