The Dutch gambling authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), continues to crack down on illegal operators, with a pair of unlicensed firms the latest to be hit with massive fines. Curacao-licensed Equinox Dynamic was fined €900,000 for offering its services to Dutch players. Slovak operator Domiseda and Partners was handed the same penalty for similar violations.

Each Operator Slapped with €900K Fine

According to the KSA, both operators violated the Netherlands’ Betting and Gaming Act by allowing customers in the country access to games of chance without the necessary license. The duo allegedly accepted Dutch customers without conducting proper age verification checks and also promoted high bonus incentives.

Equinox and Domiseda both offered illegal casino games via the online gambling website orientexpresscasino.com. The severity of the violations led to both companies receiving some of the biggest financial penalties issued by the KSA.

KSA to Continue to Hunt Down Illegal Operators

KSA Chairman René Jansen said they remain committed to creating a safe environment for those who want to gamble online, which means the agency will do everything it can to ensure unauthorized operators have no place in the country’s regulated online gambling market.

In line with that objective, the KSA recently released its 2023 supervisory agenda under which licensed operators are required to make significant improvements to their data-keeping and duty-of-care processes.
