Microgaming, the award winning Technology Company and the world’s largest provider of online gaming software, has revealed that it has signed a licensing agreement with HBO Global Licensing.

In terms of the agreement, Microgaming will develop an online slot game based on the award winning and epic HBO American Fantasy drama television series, Game of Thrones. The series commenced on HBO IN 2011 and its fourth season is due to kick off in April, 2014.

Game of Thrones is based on the bestseller book series “A Song of Ice and Fire” written by George R.R. Martin and follows kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and noblemen as they fight for power and an opportunity to sit on the Iron Throne of Westeros.

Roger Raatgever, the Chief Executive Officer of Microgaming, said that they are extremely excited to have signed a licensing agreement for Games of Thrones which is a highly relevant and incredibly popular show. Raatgever added that they are planning to take all the features of the small screen fantasy epic in order to create a masterpiece of a slot. He also said that this will be a wonderful addition to their branded content games portfolio and that their operators and players have lots to look forward to this year.

Josh Goodstadt, Director of HBO Global Licensing, revealed that Game of Thrones has a huge global presence online and that their partnership with Microgaming will extend the show’s reach into a completely new realm. He added that they are excited to be working with Microgaming and have every confidence that the show’s active fan base will be thrilled to find another new way to engage with the show.
