Microgaming will continue investing in sustainability with the extension of its award-winning PlayItFortward CSR program including environmental initiatives at ICE 2019.

The award-winning software supplier has committed to reducing waste across its ICE stand at ExCel London between Tuesday, 5th and Thursday, 7th February 2019 with the provision of wide-ranging recycling facilities, reducing the use of plastic at its bar and also recycling and reusing stand materials after the show.

These initiatives follows the current work carried out at the company’s ultra-modern Isle of Man headquarters that was designed to be as eco-friendly as possible and with their staff. The opening of the headquarters in July of 2017 was one of the Isle of Man’s first offices to have achieved an “Excellent” sustainability rating from BREEM, the top environmental assessment method and rating system for buildings in the world.

According to Microgaming, it will continue to reuse over 75% of its ICE stand structure at future events and the company has promised to recycle its stand graphics and responsibly dispose of other materials at the end of the three-day event.

The technology provider will use completely compostable cups and reusable, recyclable aluminum water cans in place of plastic-coated coffee cups and plastic water bottles. The Microgaming bar will also offer recyclable glass bottles and plastic-free coffee cups and wine goblets that biodegrade within 12 weeks under commercial compost conditions. All food waste and coffee grounds will be composted where possible while staff meals will be served in environmentally friendly packaging during the event.
