Alex Scott, Microgaming Poker Network’s Head of Poker, has revealed that MPN will be launching its own Lottery Sit-and-Go, Fish Party in July of this year and that Fish Party will have a progressive jackpot instead of a maximum fixed prize.

Lottery Sit-and-Go’s appeal mostly to recreational players due to the action and the fact that they last only a couple of minutes and offer players an opportunity to win lucrative amounts of money for a small buy-in.

The prize pool remains a secret until all players are seated and the game is about to begin at which point the prize pool is presented.  The prize pool is usually two or four times the buy-in but it can be thousands of times the big blind occasionally.

The Fish Party will differ to other sites versions of this Sit-and-Go by starting at a certain level and increasing as long as the random number generator does not spit it out instead of the top prize, the jackpot, being a set number like 10,000 the buy-in.

Scott commented on the new Sit-and-Go by saying that he thinks that fun is the future of online poker.  He added that one cannot argue that these are a lot of fun for a lot of people and that they have to keep coming up with fun, interesting ways to play poker in order for people to remain interested.  Scott went on to say that Microgaming Poker Network’s new Fish Party is going to be the best version of Jackpot Sit-and-Go’s out there.
