Scientific Games has revealed that it has completed the acquisition of gaming content studio Lightning Box that will see it enhance its growth plan in digital markets.

According to Scientific Games, the purchase will help its calculated plan to become a content-led endurable growth business, as well as support its in-house studios. The terms of the deal were, however, not disclosed.

At present Australia-based Lightning Box works with operators across Europe, Canada and the US with its clients including Rush Street, FanDuel, Loto Quebec, 888, LeoVegas, Betsson, BetMGM, Golden Nugget, BCLC, Unibet, Sky Bet and William Hill among others.

Scientific Games has an existing partnership with Lightning Box, with Lighting Box games featuring across the OpenGaming platform in the US. The studio will carry on delivering new games while profiting from Scientific Games’ selection of resources, including data analytics and commercial support.

Dylan Slaney, Senior Vice President of Gaming for Digital at Scientific Games commented that Lightning Box games are hugely popular with slots players around the world, and they are excited to welcome these talented game designers to their team.

Slaney went on to say that their strategy is a simple one: talented, passionate people make great games and the addition of the Lightning Box team is another example of this and how they will continue to be the igaming industry leader.

Peter Causley, Lightning Box co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said joining the Scientific Games team and working even more closely with them comes at a perfect time to drive forward their ambitious product innovation plans.

Causley added that having been an OpenGaming partner since its early days, they knew that Scientific Games had the capabilities to propel their games to new heights.
