Sky Betting & Gaming is pleased to reveal that it has launched sports betting products in Italy and Germany, which marks the first time that the services will be offered to customers outside of the United Kingdom.

The new launch will give punters in Italy the opportunity to now visit SkyBet.it in order to place bets on sports which include basketball, football and tennis.  Players can choose which markets to play in and more options are set to be added soon. The company has also developed and launched a Mobile application in Italy.

Sky Betting & Gaming will be launching an online casino, Casino.SkyBet.it, in Italy within the next few weeks in order to support this new service.

Sky Betting is also expected to target Germany next after buying out Sky Deutschland in 2014 and once the expansion in Italy is deemed a success Sky Betting & Gaming are expected to move to Germany.  The company has, meanwhile, rolled out its free-to-play “Super 6” product in Germany that sees players winning a jackpot of €100,000 ($111,170) for correctly predicting the scores of six select matches in Germany’s Bundesliga top-tier club football competition.  The success of the game has been key to converting punters into real-money betters.

Sky Deutschland currently has 4.5 subscribers and the company hired Jochen Weiner as Managing Director, specifically to make an impact on the local German market.  Weiner has revealed that the current market is “healthy” and the vast number of subscribers should help them gain momentum.
