World-leading provider of sports data and content solutions Sportradar, is thrilled to announce that it has expanded its existing partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB) that will see it create a new virtual baseball in-play game for licensed gaming operators.

The new in-play simulation game has been built especially for betting and will be offered in the United States as well as internationally,  representing the first virtual gaming solution developed with a major US sports league.

The game features the official MLB team names and logos and gives fans yet another way to engage with Major League Baseball, enabling licensed gaming operators to add additional value to their offering and combining fast-paced betting for mobile and online users, with longer betting cycles for retail.  This new virtual baseball offering can be accessed right through the year and is based upon historical data.

The new product, as well as all of Sportradar’s virtual sports products, has been built for betting, ensuring the experience is as close to real-life as possible.

David Lampitt, Managing Director, Sports Partnerships at Sportradar, said that they are very excited to work with Major League Baseball in bringing a virtual baseball gaming solution to the market.  He added that leveraging MLB’s official content, they are confident that they have an enticing product that consumers will love and that bookmakers will benefit from.

Kenny Gersh, MLB Executive Vice President, Gaming and New Business Ventures, said that they are pleased that their partnership with Sportradar has resulted in the development of this new virtual baseball offering.  He also said that one of the reasons they partnered with Sportradar was to develop new, engaging products for their fans leveraging the power of MLB’s best-in-class content.

Gersh added that this first-of-its kind virtual offering does just that, and they are excited to bring fans this new entertainment option..
