New Hampshire is due to become the latest state in the United States to launch sports betting following the approval of DraftKings as the exclusive partner of the New Hampshire Lottery.

The New Hampshire Executive Council selected DraftKings after a competitive bidding process, offering the New Hampshire Lottery the best financial package, the highest rated mobile sports betting app and the fastest timeline for implementation.

The contract will run six years and includes two two-year extensions with the lottery receiving 50% of gaming revenue from sports betting sales, boosting revenue for education in New Hampshire.

Charlie McIntyre, the Executive Director at New Hampshire Lottery, commented that today’s affirmative vote begins a partnership with DraftKings that will offer their players an exciting opportunity to participate in sports betting with a trusted partner.

McIntyre went on to say that the introduction of sports betting will broaden the appeal of the New Hampshire Lottery and engage new and existing customers, while generating millions of dollars in additional revenue to support education.  He added that they are working directly with DraftKings to implement a sports betting system that both engages players, while also ensuring all appropriate safeguards are in place.

Chris Sununu, New Hampshire Governor, signed legislation in July authorizing the New Hampshire Lottery to conduct sports betting through 10 retail sportsbook locations, along with mobile sports betting which is scheduled to launch in January 2020.

Sununu also said that they are partnering with a world-class company to provide a first-rate customer service experience.  He added that the vote will now enable everyone to bet on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in time for this year’s Super Bowl.
