Hard Rock International has partnered with Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) to accept land-based sports wagering at Hard Rock Casino Sioux City in Iowa and began accepting wagering on 20th September 2019 with an aim to launch online and mobile app sports betting in December 2019.

Hard Rock Sioux City Sportsbook is the 14th land-based sports wagering site in the Hawkeye State and runs on GIG’s platform.  The Sportsbook and GiG partnered in 2018 to launch retail and digital sportsbooks at Hard Rock’s Atlantic City Casino in New Jersey.

Included in the partnership between Hard Rock and GiG, a European-based gaming and sports betting technology provider, is the option for further expansion collaboration in several additional states in the U.S. with legal sports betting markets.

Richard Brown, the acting Chief Executive Officer of GiG, commented that after a successful launch in New Jersey, he is delighted to further deepen the relationship with Hard Rock, delivering on their strategy to grow with their partner by entering a new state in the U.S. with their sportsbook.

Brown also said that they are looking forward to growing with their partner long term.  He added that they have mutual ambitions to entertain consumers with a safe and exciting first-class sports betting experience.

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission authorized the state’s 19 casinos to offer retail and online sports wagering in mid-August.

Although Iowa has a population of approximately 3 million people, its sports betting revenue is expected to benefit from neighboring states that have not yet legalized sports wagering.
